Why Practice Yin Yang Yoga?
Every yoga class is not for every body but every body can find a yoga class that will improve health in mind, body and spirit. A class that feels like home.
Yin Yang Yoga is about expanding your practice through a combination of Yin poses, slow flow vinyasa and Pilates concepts. We treat our mats as the laboratory, our practice as the experiment and we learn through the experience. If any of the following statements apply, this class could be perfect for you.
- I want slow down, wake up and be more deeply engaged in my practice.
- I want to be more mindful and aware of sensations, movement and poses.
- I am new to yoga and want to learn in a slower paced, supportive environment.
NOTE: Although ideal for beginners, class may be challenging.
Benefits vary from class to class depending on your personal intention for class and what you are bringing to class from the experiences of your day or week. Because class combines Yin (stillness, passive, core softness and surrender) and Yang (dynamic, active, core strength), we are looking for balance in the class and in our practice both on and off the mat. At the end of class muscles will be strengthened and stretched, joints will be stimulated and less rigid, tissues enlivened and you energized.

POE Yin Yang Yoga
Yin Yang Yoga is my home. The concept has been developing since 1990 when I began creating and leading group exercise classes. Yin Yang combines all of my favorites… the control of Pilates, the strength of vinyasa, and the stillness of yin. With a thoughtful weaving of elements from each of these well established practices power, balance, and mindfulness are developed on the mat and greater self-insight is experienced both on and off the mat.
“This is the class that takes me to that Zen place.”
“I sleep better since taking this class. I have learned how to relax even when there’s a lot going on.”
“The way you explain things keeps me coming back.”
“I like that my body is more prepared to get into a Yang poses after letting go in a Yin pose.”
